Visit the vantage points that present the best views of Acapulco’s landmark attractions, including the spot where the famed cliff divers leap 140 feet into the sea. Divers have been fearlessly jumping from La Quebrada since 1934 and the spectacle is as exciting as ever. You will watch the death-defying show from the adjacent Hotel Mirador, followed by a much tamer but no less entertaining folkloric performance. Complimentary cocktail or soda is included. In keeping with the seaside theme, you will then drive past Acapulco’s legendary beaches before pausing to shop in a bustling marketplace known for its colorful handicrafts. You will also enjoy a close-up look at the luxurious resorts that line the ocean in the Golden Zone and Hotel Zone. If time permits, you will also pause at other scenic lookouts with views of the Pacific Ocean.

Spend a carefree day enjoying the amenities of the luxurious Fairmont Pierre Marques however you please. On the way there, you will pause for photos at a lookout that presents a stunning backdrop of the Sierra Madre mountains on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other side. Famed industrialist J. Paul Getty built the hotel as his private retreat in 1958, and the setting on Revolcadero Beach is still stunning. While here, you will be free to bask in the sun, stroll along the beach and take a refreshing swim in the sea and in the hotel’s shimmering freshwater pool. All sorts of optional amenities are also available, including water sports and motorized vehicles. Considering all the activities, you will surely work up an appetite for the sumptuous buffet lunch that will be served in one of the hotel restaurants.

Gain a historical perspective of Acapulco by visiting some of its earliest attractions, including La Quebrada, from which cliff divers have been leaping into the sea since 1934. After watching the diving spectacle, you will proceed to the city’s affluent Caleta area, where stars such as Cary Grant and John Wayne once had homes. Hollywood also favored Los Flamingos Hotel, which famed Olympic swimmer and actor Johnny Weissmuller owned. The hotel has retained its original charm as you will see firsthand while enjoying a beverage there while overlooking the ocean. Another spectacular view awaits you at the Chapel of Peace, yet another landmark perched on the famed cliffs of Acapulco. Finally, you will see the historical Fort of San Diego. Some surfaces are moss covered and may become slippery when wet. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests, those with mobility concerns, pregnant women, or guests with heart problems, asthma, epilepsy, diabetes or any condition that prevents them from being in the water. Snorkeling equipment is available for rent. Participants must be more than 10 years old. Those participating in water activities do so at their own risk and responsibility.

Walk through the oldest part of Acapulco for an up-close and revealing look at its history and culture. You will first visit the star-shaped Fort of San Diego, which was constructed in the 17th century, destroyed by an earthquake in the 18th century and then rebuilt into the magnificent structure that you will explore. It now holds the esteemed History Museum of Acapulco. Continuing on, you will soon enter the Zócalo, the oldest and most atmospheric district in town. Highlights include seeing Acapulco’s oldest drugstore and Our Lady of Solitude, a magnificent twin-towered cathedral. The district is also known for its fine jewelry shops, which you might visit during free time. One last stop will be made at Nacho’s restaurant, an institution in Zócalo where you may linger over a beverage.
